Daniel De la Rosa has owned Belgian Malinois Gypsy for three years now, and he carefully selected this breed because he wanted a high level obedience dog that he could enter in competitions. Daniel has been showing and training dogs since 1989. He competes with Gypsy in conformation, obedience, rally, and Schutzhund, and he is Karen Pryor Academy certified. Together, Daniel and Gypsy have earned titles in AKC, CDX, RN, and Schutzhund 2. In addition to Gypsy, Daniel has two Akitas, one of which is an American and Canadian show champion. Daniel is the owner of Petropolis Park, which is a cageless boarding, daycare, and training facility located in Hollywood, FL. He enjoys being able to spend his day with Gypsy since he is able to take her to work with him. The most challenging part about owning this breed is that Belgian Malinois have an extremely high energy level and they get bored easily. Therefore, they must always have a job to do to keep busy. Because of their work drive, these dogs are typically used as police, military, and search and rescue dogs.
